Review:

As a fan of the first Dune movie that came out in 2021, I was really looking forward to this movie. The first movie ended on a cliffhanger, and left a lot of questions unanswered, so there was a lot of hype going into this movie. Dune Part II did not disappoint, and in many ways it was better than I was expecting. Dune Part II is a sci-fi blockbuster epic that demands to be seen on the biggest screen possible. It reminds you of why we love movies, and why we go to the movie theater. It’s everything a movie should be. It’s a big screen spectacle that makes you question how they even made the movie. The film draws you in from the very beginning, and holds you attention from the very end. The director Denis Vellneuve brings you into this world, and leaves you wanting more. The world building rivals Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. The performances are spectacular, and Timothee Chalamet delivers his best performance yet. Austin Butler is the real star of the show, and steals the show whenever he is on screen. His villainous character and fabulous performance rivals villains like Heath Ledger’s Joker. Han Zimmer’s score is jaw dropping and might be his best score yet. I recommend watching the movie in IMAX, because the movie needs to be seen on the biggest screen you can find. Dune Part II earns the Dune franchise a spot in the Sci-Fi movie hall of fame, and accomplishes what the Star Wars Franchise did in nine movies, in just two. Dune Part II is a celebration of the theatrical experience, and is a cinematic celebration. I seriously recommend everyone to see Dune Part II, because it is a once in a lifetime cinematic achievement, and will for sure become a classic in the future, and be held in the same regard as Star Wars. I predict this movie to be nominated for several Oscars next year, and could finally earn Denis Villneue his long awaited, and well deserved Oscar for best director. It’s a film that I can seriously consider going to the theater to watch multiple times. I can’t wait to go back and watch it for the third time.
